Old man Puzz rejects the design.

Puzz from Puzzlaria laughed at Cam's answer to the fence design.
But he rejected it very quickly. He said his horses wouldn't like
that design.

Puzz said he needed a fenced area of about 12 acres for his
horses to run and play and he was going to add a riding trail
for his grandchildren. He thought a circle would be nice.

He added some specifications. Fence wire was $1 per foot
for a three wire fence, and posts were $5 each. Posts were
to be placed at 15 to 18 foot intervals. It needed a 16 foot opening
for his gate which he already owned.

So his required design calls for the best cost per acre for 11.9 to 12.1 acres.

OK, I've thought of a question: how fast must the rocket be going in order that the microwave background temperature rises to 10000 Kelvin? Ignore GR considerations, treat it as a SR doppler shift problem, use simple black-body radiation concepts only (unless you can do better).

A Circle Mystery

"Which came first, the phoenix or the flame?"
"...a circle has no beginning," Luna Lovegood once cleverly said.

But really, does a circle have no beginning?
I mean, there has to be something that begun the circle,
or else there would be no circle at all..........

The Answer Book

Hey Guys,

I get many emails for answers for the puzzles. So I came up with this idea of AnswerBooks for every month. AnswerBooks will contain Puzzles with answers along with most funny and interesting answers from the readers. For each month, the answer book will be published in PDF format on the first week of the next month.

This will take considerable effort and to keep the cost low and also to help support the website, I wanted to put a nominal price on this and wanted your opinion.

Which of these you like the most and What you think should be the price of the Answer Book?

It was August of 2007 when I started the website trickofmind.com, for my curiosity towards interesting aspects of Logic, Mathematics, Physics, and English. It has been a long way and I have been tricking your mind for almost a year now.

Gadget Update Version 1.5

Hey Guys !

There is a new version of the Sidebar gadget Download Version - 1.5

The new version has the following updates

• You can see the Number of comments, question have, in the Fly-out window
• Question will have tool tip which will say either TOM puzzle or Shared Puzzle(shared by web users)
• Keyboard accessibility, yes you can access all the features using keyboard
• New wall papers

To access the Gadget using keyboard use the following shortcuts

1. Press Windows key + tab-space to get Sidebar in front
2. Press Windows key + G to tab across each gadget
3. Press Tab to go through each of the questions
4. Press Enter key to open the question in the Fly-out window
5. Press Enter when close link is selected to close the Fly-out
