The Elusive Riddle
It can be short.
It can be long.
If you think it has weight,
You are definitely wrong!
It can't be heard.
It can be seen.
For heaven's sake,
What do I mean?
What is it?
It can be long.
If you think it has weight,
You are definitely wrong!
It can't be heard.
It can be seen.
For heaven's sake,
What do I mean?
What is it?

Silence.
Good answer Chris ... silence seems to fulfill the criteria of the poem, but it is not the unknown we are seeking... :-)
The answer is time?
good answer Jennifer ...
but the elusive unknown we seek is not time
it can be short
it can be long
my train of thought?
Zaux...i come back from my Monday night bowling game only to see i have missed so much goodies!
Knightmare you bowl? ... my daughter is a bowler ... bought her a ball and bag for Christmas
I thought it was "Time", so I agree with Jennifer.
Hi Ragknot ..
good answer, but not the one we seek
I see that, now that I read all the above.
No weight? does it have mass?
Maybe "heaven's sake" is a clue.
If it can be short, and long, why bother with that clue? Maybe that means it has length. Most things with length have weight and can be seen. So I think it must not have length. Short and long mean something else.
Is it "time"?
Ha, Ha, I got a one track mind.
hi Zaux
i bowl every monday night
the shop i work at(as a machinist)has a team
but remember,i'm talking about Canadian bowling(5 pin,3 balls)
the answer to this riddle
Knightmare ...
was not aware that canadian bowling is different ...
Anonymous ...
clever, but there is a real answer
Ragknot ...
it has no mass ... :-)
a frequency
Knightmare ...
I actually think IT is the absence of a frequency
I had considered electro-waves, but considered light, and you can see light. I think time is a better answer.
nope ... not light .. :-)
"who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men.....?"
greed
panic
love
i don't know,just throwing them out there
you mean, no one saw the hint?
fear?
not fear ...who said that quote?
the abscence of a frequency... and a quote
courage?
nope ....google the quote
the main character of an old famous radio program said the quote "who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?"
that creepy guy that follows me everwhere, and i have fights with all the time,-my shadow
guys ... I'm sorry ... made an error. I corrected it , but it caused a lot of unnecessary posts. The unknown we seek CAN be seen.
Ragknot, you questioned that, and I didn't catch it.
Knightmare ... it is a shadow ... so sorry I made the mistake ... guess I should go to bed
if it's okay with everyone, I'm gonna blame that mistake on the pain meds ... :-)
that's cool
i blame all of my mistakes on the vocies that say are in my head.
I get songs in my head and they drive me nuts ... and that ain't a long drive ... :-)
it doesn't look to me like anyone has gotten it right, so I'm going to guess air
Is it a journey?
In case it's not clear, Zaux said the intended answer is :
A shadow.
Other solutions work nicely.
I would have answered a rainbow.
Cam
Hmmm!. Provided there are no obstructions, all rainbows have the same (angular) size.
...assuming water droplets created rainbows.
