There was a bang at the front door, a man opens it but no one is there, he closes the door.
There was another bang after he closed it, he opened the door again but before he did, he noticed two holes in the door, he opens the door and dies, how did he die?

He died of pulmonary edema. The house was at the top of Mt. Everest, and he just finished the climb. During the ascent, he noticed he was coughing up blood, and he thought that the doctor had finally made it to the cottage.

i agree with the guy who mentioned the guns...
he opens the door then the guy outsid e hides. When he closes it two shot fire through the door at him being the bangs he don't die automatically but when he opens the door, he finally dies

The holes were bullet holes.
The shooter was across the street.
He died, of course, from more gunshots.

I heard about this TRUE story on the news last week,
he was shot from behind...the shooter had a gun silencer and was also inside
if he was shot he didnt have to have a silencer as he would be dead before the noise reached him
the shooter was inside so the man did not here the bang from behind him he heard the bang when the bullets hit the door...the third and final shot was the one that killed him

the two holes were gun shots which made the two bangs but theres a bit to the question which no ones answered yet wat was the murder weapen. we know its a gun but wat kind of gun if you read the question properly you will know
obviously he was shot. The first bang was the first gunshot thus making the first hole. The second gunshot made the second hole. And it takes a while to die from gunshots depending on where he was shot. Sometimes people don't even feel the pain for a few seconds.

No As it said there where 2 bangs at the door and 2 holes in the door so the first time he opened it the person was hiding and had a shot but missed and hit the door the second time when the man answered it, itagain went through the door and hit the man who answered it!!

obviously the killer wasnt inside or he would have killed the guy quicker. the killer was using a sniper rifle and thats why he couldnt see anyone at the door. when the man answered the door he hid so the man wouldnt see him.

the reason he never saw anyone out side was that it was a burglarer trying to kill him from the inside trying to sneek outside but running into him forced to try to kill him.

Wow, that was the very first thing I thought of, and judgeing from the off the wall answers, everyone else thought of that too. I was actually waiting for a twist, or some kind of mystery, but there was none. Oh well.

The bangs were gunshots. the 1st had missed. the second, which hit him, took a while to kill him. The shooter could have been anywhere from across the streat to the other side of town, all he needs is a clear line a view.
