Speaking of numbers on the telephone dial, which of the digits 0 to 9 appears least and which appears most in the numbers from 1 to 100 inclusive ?

I havent bothered to sit and count but after a minute of thought...
0 shows the most with 1 a close second...and the rest appear the same number of times
0 is the least. You don't write 01, 02, 03, etc. so it only appears 12 times. (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100)
1 appears 21 times. (1, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, 31, 41, 51, 61, 71, 81, 91, 100)
All the other numbers appear 20 times.
Adam, you are correct, except you misread the question. It asks how many times the digits appear between 1 and 100, but you started from zero.
Therefore the digit zero only occurs 11 times.
(Pedantic - I know, but there you have it!)
Either I did misread it, or they changed the question on me, I could have swore it said 0-100 earlier, my bad. So that's even less zeros.
ONE appears the most and ZERO appears the least.
1: 1, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, 31, 41, 51, 61, 71, 81, 91, 100
0: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100.
0 appears the least.
7 appears the most
Surely the numbers 0-9 only appear once each on a telephone dial!
100 has two 0s in it which balances the fact that the counting starts at 1...
0 is used 12 times, 1 is used 21 times, the rest are used 20 times.
Very interesting post you have here I guess after a serie of thoughts it used about 12 times and 1 about 20 times.
