240 Cigarettes a Day
Colonel Plantpott-Smythe is about to doze off down at the old india club when he notices Cruddington settling down in a neighbouring armchair. Knowing that the man is trying to give up Smoking Cigarettes, he passes him a note on a napkin:
Cruddinton sighs, scrawls a reply on the back of the napkin and returns it. When old Plantpott reads the message, he is quite taken back, Holy Smokes,
240 Cigarettes !
Untill he realizes his mistake. what was his mistake ?

You have to write down that number in a piece of paper.
He was congratulating his collegue with a simple note : 24 0 cigarettes. 24 hours and zero cigarettes!

i wrote the 1st reply but i was j/k, u guys are thinkin about it the wrong way, the mistake lays with the person that is not quiting smokeing.
its either an error in the question or statement or what ever it is he wrote first, or how he read or interpenetrated the answer. nothing with how it was writen, so all the "24 horus, 0 cigs" and "holly smokes 240" is wrong, and "holy smokes, 240 cigerittes is what he said not what he read, all he took from the napkin was 240.
and also, i dont get the unside down 240, tryed it on paper, napkin, tryed 2 different types of 4's and i sont see anything. can some one explain that to me

To last anonymous its not your fault i also tried nuber of times to find out
it is "one" try writing it down in cursive writing and see upside down
if you right 240 on a napkin and flip it over, the ink bleeds through as 9h0, as in 9 hours, 0 cigarettes smoked!
