Fair Enough
Two brothers had a flock of sheep which they sold getting as many dollars, for every sheep as there were sheep in the flock. Intending to share the amount equally, the older brother and then the younger brother, took from it $ 10 each, alternately in succession.
At the last stage, when it was the turn of the younger brother, there remain less than $ 10. the younger brother took this amount and the elder one gave him his new knife for the sharing to be fair.
Now ! YOU tell me, What's the question to be asked, and what is the Answer?

Did you mean to say "they got for EACH sheep, the same number as the"number of sheep? If "EVERY" was the correct word, then there can only be one sheep, and for EVERY sheep the cost was one dollar, and the total was one dollar. The question would be "Why EVERY and not EACH?
the question is .... is it fair enough? and the answer is .....Yes.
The question is What did the younger brother do with the knife?
well i have no clue so time fr a joke!
what is the answer to life the universe and everything?
and of course we all know the answer it 42 =D
question:
"What's the question to be asked, and what is the Answer?"
answer:
"What's the question to be asked, and what is the Answer?"
um taking a stab at the ovious and saying how many sheep is the question,
and the only answer i got is any number of them ending with 4 or 6, as the price is the square of the the numbers
4sheep 4 dollors each 16 dollors older brother gets 10 younget gets knife as not another 10
6 at 6 each 36 dollors
14 at 14 196
16 at 16 256
because for some reason all other numbers 1,2,3,5,7,8,9 and all the other numbers ending in them, all have either not enough 10s to make the staement true where the older brother gets 10 first or the have an even number where the younger brother always gets the last 10. just my hunch
ok ya so reading my own comment i figured out the answer and the question.
the question is how much is the knife worth and the answer is 4 dollars
To the last anonymous
and what is the EXPLANATION ?
? is how is this not fair?
a is because ke killed him 0_o
the value of the knife would be half the difference between ten and the amount that was left for the younger brother. This is because the older brother loses the value of the knife as the younger brother gains it. This makes it fair.
As for the total amount of money, it must be a perfect square, so it ends in 1, 4, 5, 6, or 9. Also, the "tens" value must be odd, since it runs out on the second brother.
Thus it is seen that values that satisfy this are: 4, 6, 14, 16, 24, 26.....etc. with square values of (respectively): 16, 36, 196, 256, 576, 676.
Therefor the money value must end in 6, so the value of the knife is (10-6)/2 =$2
Question: How much is the knife worth?
Answer: $2
10 plus 10 plus the value of the knife.
28 sheep worth 1 each plus a $2.00 knife is the only fair way to go.
No matter how many sheep, when there's at least 10 for Brother #2, the amount left for him is $6. If the knife has a value of $2, then bro1 loses $2 (value of knife) and bro2 gets the $6 that was left plus the $2 knife... so for the last "play" they each get $8.
Example 14 sheep the total is $196, Bro 1 gets 100, and Bro gets 90, with 6 remaining. Bro 2 gets 96 plus the $2 knife, Bro 1 got 100 less the $2 knife.
Question was was the value of the knife... Answer $2.
answer: i think the younger brother let the older brother have his last turn.
