How old is his great-granddad

Just how old is your great-granddad?
Well, when he was 1/7 of his age plus one, he understood calculus.
When he was 1/5 of his age minus one, he mastered quantum mechanics.
When he was 1/3 of his age minus three, my granddad was born.
And when he was 1/2 his age plus five, my dad was born.

Well you would have to know your great granddads' age first before working it out!!!

Well the best I can figure out is 210, since its evenly divisible by 7,5,3 and 2...but thats kinda old :)

I think that the guy is about 85 years old.

since he mastered quantum mechanics, that would be about 30, calculus is high-school usually, so that was like 20-21 maybe:

21x7+1 would be about 148, so lets see about the others:

30x5-1 would be about 149, and thats pretty close,

148/3-3 would be roughly 46, when his granddad was born.

148/2+5 would be 79, a difference of 33 which is a good age to have a kid.

all of this says that he was probably 148.25 or something.

I'm going to go with 90 as a guess and say that he's a really smart kid understanding calculus at nearly 14. But this question really don't have a mathematical answer since there's no reference at any time to his actual age so there is no constant to work with, one can only assume that he is between 38 and 120 years of age being as the worlds youngest father was 12 ((12*2-5)*2=38, meaning he understood calculus before the age of 7) and that the world's oldest man was 120 years of age. This however is a very vague answer which leads to the thought that this is a trick question like if it is refering to the age of the actual readers great-granddad, however this is also unlikely being as these age requirements wouldn't match the readers actual great-granddad. This must be a trick question i'm missing so i'm sticking with my guess of 90 years old.

Great Granddad is 111 Years Old.
He understood Calculus at 16 = (111+1) / 7
He understood Quantum Physics at 22 = (111 - 1) / 5
He had a son at 36 = (111 - 3) / 3
Finally his grandson was born when he was 58 = (111 + 5) / 2

1) I’ll go with “Ano 6/19 3:05p”. 210 yrs old.

“1/7 of age” plus one: 30 + 1 = 31 Calculus.
“1/5 of age” minus one: 42 – 1 = 41 QM.
“1/3 of age” minus three: 70 -3 = 67 Grd Dad born.
“1/2 of age” plus five: 105 + 5 = 110 Dad born.

Next time pls sign a Nick Name? Kinda hard for people to give you an appraisal and salute…

2) Bigly has a big brain. He (she) was the 1st one de-ciphered code re “age +” and “age -“ thing: The perfect answer is 111 Yr old.
1/7 of “age plus one”: 1/7 x (111 + 1) = 16 Calcs.
1/5 of “age minus one”: 1/5 x (111 – 1) = 22 QM.
1/3 of “age minus three”: 1/3 x (111 -3) = 36 Grd Dad born.
1/2 of “age plus five”: ½ x (111 + 5) = 58 Dad born.

3) If WebUser wants integral numbers, and is tricky about “age +” and “age -“, then next answer is 321 Yr Old:
1/7 of “age plus one”: 1/7 x (321 + 1) = 46 Calcs.
1/5 of “age minus one”: 1/5 x (321 – 1) = 64 QM.
1/3 of “age minus three”: 1/3 x (321 -3) = 106 Grd Dad.
1/2 of “age plus five”: ½ x (321 + 5) = 163 Dad.

Mathematically, this is also perfect. Unfortunately, Grt Grd Dad was really old…

This riddle is tough. Had to work triple-hard. I feel older than Grt Grd Dad by now…

Additional Questions for "WebUser":

Should title have been "How Old Was My Great-granddad ", instead of "How old is his great-granddad "...?"

Reason 1: Text body mentioned "my" Grd Dad and "my" Dad. This caused some headaches, thinking Riddle was tricky in that direction...

Reason 2: Hard for Grt Grd Dad to live thru 210, 111, or 321. Yet, is he still living...? Hmmmmmm...
