A man stretches as far as he can to save a woman from falling 50 feet below, but misses. Without a scratch on her body, the woman stands up and walks away smiling.
Who is the woman and why does she survive the fall unscathed?
p.s. i'm borrowing these riddles from a book i have called "30 second mysteries volume 2" they start out really easy then get harder. If you need hints i have 5 i can give you, each one giving away a little more. Just post if you want hints, i'll let you know if you guys are right

The man was 50 feet above her, and the woman was on the ground. Unless it means that she fell from 50 feet to the ground. Why does who the woman is matter?

i would say trapiez(sorry bad speller) artists, she falls cause he missed her, she lands in the net below.
I think it was lady death trying to make him reach so far that he would fall himself.

My first guess was what the first post said--but after i realized it asked WHO the woman is, i thought, if the wording meant she was about to fall 50ft down, then they could be in a movie, and she is a stunt woman landing on a safety balloon. The man would be an actor, pretending to try to save her.
Am i right?

The woman is a trapeze artist who misses her catch. She survives the fall because she lands in the saftey net.

one flaw to the answer, if she misses then why would she be smiling, If I missed and fell to the net I wouldn't be smiling, I would be cursing and saying "damn missed the &%$#ing swing again"
