The Village Simpleton
A man, who was taking a long walk in the country, came upon a yokel sitting on a stile. As the gentleman was not quite sure of his road, he thought he would make enquiries of the local inhabitant; but at the first glance he jumped too hastily to the conclusion that he had dropped on the village idiot. He, therefore, decided to test the fellow's intelligence by putting to him the simplest question he could think of, which was: "Whate day of the week is this, my good man?" The following is the smart answer that he received:
"When the day after tomorrow is yesterday, today will be as far from Sunday as today was from Sunday when the day before yesterday was tomorrow."
Can you say what day of the week it was?

Wednesday
when the day after tomorrow is yesterday, + 3 days
when the day befor yesterday was tomorrow, - 3 days
so today has to be sunday
if the day after tomorrow is yesterday (talking about 3 days ahead) = same time away from sunday, makes sunday the middle point.
when today was tomorrow, talks about taking one step back from today.
the time in between these two points is 1+3 (one day back from today, 3 days ahead)
If sunday is the middle point of the 4 days, the specific days are Friday - Tuesday
Therefore one day after Friday and 3 days before Tuesday is Saturday.
Today is Saturday
Hope that makes sense :S
that makes no sense. the answer if i am not mistaken is thursday.
the answer is monday because the yokel kept sayin sunday and he is from the dumb town because a smart person would have came out and just said what the day was instead he jus took to long 2 answer so there is my logic
If the day was tuesday the when the day after tomorrow it yesterday that would make that day friday two days from sunday it just so happens that tuesday is also two days from sunday so that wpuold make the answer tuesday
never mind i read that too quickly my answer is wrong and I am not sure as to the correct one
Alright here's what I'm getting.
Blah blah... today will be as far from sunday as today was from sunday when... blah blah.
This would seem to be a fancy way of saying that the distance from whatever this day is to sunday hasn't changed.
with that in mind wouldn't any day work?
wednesday
today will be as far from sunday as today was from sunday when the day before yesterday was 2moro...
makes it the middle... so wednesday...
see? :D
the guy wasn't the village idiot he was a clever guy who didn't know what day it was.
it goes like this... he says if it was 3 days in the future but 3 days into the past... it would be the same distance as if they didn't go anywhere, which is true b/c they would be on the same day
so the answer is it could be any day of the seven days.
